Registration FAQs

Who can join?

Any team with a maximum of five (5) members, provided at least one of them is a Registered Architect from any UIA member country, can join. The team can be composed of individuals from different backgrounds. In fact, it is encouraged for the teams to be multi-disciplinary.

How do you register?

Registration is free for all interested applicants, and all you need to provide is for one member to present his/her Architect License. You can go to the registration page and submit your information here:

I have registered, now what?

After submitting your information, you will be receiving an e-mail within 48 hours to your e-mail address specified in the form confirming your registration. Likewise, if your registration was not accepted, you will also receive an email informing you of the same. If you have not received a confirmation email after 2 days, you can register again before the the 5th of June.

Where is the Competition Kit?

The Competition Kit will be distributed to confirmed registrants from 15 May 2015 onwards. This will include the following:

  • Overview of the Clark Green City Project
  • CAD Drawings of the Site
  • Vicinity Map
  • Cost Estimates Spreadsheet
  • Competition Guidelines (Detailed Judging Criteria)

How much are the prizes?

After submission of entries, five (5) shortlisted entries will proceed to the next stage. The shortlisted entries will each receive three thousand (3,000) US dollars to optimize their current designs for the final presentation on 14 August 2015. The chosen winner will get forty thousand (40,000) US Dollars, and for their design to be considered in the Mixed-Income Housing Project by BCDA in the Clark Green City.

How much is the Architectural Fee of the winning team if the Project is implemented?

BCDA, as a state-run entity or GOCC (Government Owned and Controlled Corporation) is subject to RA 9184: Government Procurement Act. Thus, in the actual implementation of the Housing Developments, the Detailed Engineering and Construction would be subject to a bidding.

Should the winning design be considered for implementation, the winning team/architect will be acknowledged as the Designer of the Housing Developments. The intellectual property right will remain with the winning team/architect but the submitted materials will become the property of BCDA. Kindly review the Forms, Waivers & Declarations given as part of the Competition Kit.

Is it possible to get more team mates after the Orientation (05 June 2015 at 1PM)? Is it possible to change some team members after the Orientation?

No. After the Orientation, you cannot add and/or change the composition of the Team members. If the Team Members in the Registered Database and the Team Members in the Forms and Declarations (as part of the Submission Requirements) do not match, the TEAM may be subject for disqualification.

Do we need to register again if we want to add additional members or change the members in our team?

You may change the team composition and re-register until the Registration Deadline on 05 June 2015 at 12 Noon (GMT +8:00). After that, the TEAM composition is considered final.

Can participants register for Multiple Teams?

The assigned TEAM LEADER and the assigned MEMBER with REGISTERED/LICENSED Architecture ID can register once only and must belong to one team only. The other three (3) members can belong to other teams as long as they are not the assigned TEAM LEADER and the assigned MEMBER with REGISTERED/LICENSED Architecture ID.

Once registered, can changes, additions and/or replacements be made to Team Members? 

Once registered, the TEAM LEADER and MEMBER with REGISTERED/LICENSED Architecture ID can NO LONGER BE CHANGED or REPLACED. The other three (3) slots can still have additional members, can still be changed or replaced before the Registration Deadline on 05 June 2015 at 12 Noon.
